Paris: Marais without crowds. Guided Tour.

Paris: Marais without crowds. Guided Tour.

We show you why Marais is the favorite neighborhood of the Parisians. In English, and in a small group. There's the backdrop. Aristocratic Mansions. Secluded Gardens. Old Stones. There's the scene. The art galeries. The foods. The designer workshops. There's the Jewish culture. Old History. Nazi persecutions. Present-day culture. Ashkenazi and Sephardic cultures. There's the LGBT culture. Marais is where it all started, in the early 1980's. There's the history. World War II. The mad lifestyle of the aristocrats before the French Revolution. The medieval pockets of Le Marais. And there's the people. Fashionable Parisians. The Curious. And then the clueless visitors from "the provinces". You will engage in people-watching. This is what Parisians do in Le Marais. We walk rain or shine. Small groups. In English. Your guide is in a pink vest. What is a small group? Our small group tours usually have around 12 people. While group sizes can go up to 20, we add a second guide when that happens to keep the experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone. Limited Spots Available! Book Your Tour Now!

Le Marais District & Jewish Quarter Guided Walking Tour 12pp

Start your tour of the Marais by learning about its historic importance. This district once lay beyond the center of Paris. Today, it is at the heart of the city. Discover the Church of Saint Paul and Saint Louis before walking through the courtyard of the majestic Hotel de Sully. Continue experiencing the royal history of the Marais by exploring the pristine Place des Vosges, a public square with unparalleled beauty in Paris. Afterwards, move forward in time to learn all about the bustling Jewish community that put the Marais on the map through the 18th and 19th centuries. Wander past the bakeries and boutiques of the Pletzl before strolling the shop-laden rue des Francs Bourgeois. All the while discover mansion after mansion, former homes to nobility that once called the Marais home. Some are now museums, like the highly worthwhile Musée Carnavalet. The tour may also introduce you to both the Hotel de Ville, or City Hall, and the Pompidou Center, both architectural masterpieces from very different periods.
