What people are saying about Center Gai
Shibuya is so much more than neon and crowds. This is a great way to get more insight into this 3-dimensional city with restaurants upstairs, amazing markets in basements, and tiny traditional bars that fit only 5 people right next to mega department stores. The food was great though I would have liked the option to have half-serves or just samples of everything as I filled up too quickly. Our guide Ryan was fantastic - he was able to answer our questions about everything, and communicated really well with the rather large group. We had 12 in our group which is my only complaint - I think they should cap it at 8 people as in several places we filled the restaurant, which meant we couldn't get the local vibe. (They were running another group of 12 and we crossed paths with them, which reduced the specialness of the experience.) Keep in mind that of all the food places we went to only one had seating - it is a stretch for kids particularly to walk and stand for 3 hours plus.
We're not tour people but we thought since we were traveling with our 8 and 9-year-old sons it might be fun to book a couple of tours on this trip. We booked this one, a fish market tour and a cycling tour of Kyoto. All four of us agreed that this was the best tour. Walking around, trying a bunch of foods, getting informed but not bored to death, this was a fabulous time. Really, just a ton of fun. We never felt rushed.
As a first-timer is not always an easy job:) especially if you're solo traveler and visit to non-English speaking country and confusing subway, so I gave myself a try on this web to see how far they can offer to me. The result? I booked it twice with same local guide and got a chance to visit many districts in Tokyo just in 2 days!. Well recommended! You should try though..:)
We had a simply wonderful experience with our tour! Jennifer, our tour guide, was incredibly accommodating and we enjoyed a wide range of Japanese cuisine, with our party of two parents and two children, ages 8 and 10. Highly recommended!
We had a local “friend” showing us around Tokyo for two days and it was a really great experience! Maddy picked us up at our hotel and showed us the best parts of the city at our own pace - can not recommend her enough! Thank you!!
