Discover the history of puppetry in The Global Collection. The collection celebrates puppetry traditions in major cultures from around the world. Highlighting the history of puppetry in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, learn how puppets have been used as a teaching and communication tool. See puppets organized by continent, and find artifacts displayed with rich, contextual backdrops, and hands-on interactives that encourage patrons to immerse themselves in puppetry traditions from around the world.  Explore the interactive Jim Henson Collection, displaying the work of the creator of The Muppets. Follows Henson’s prolific imagination chronologically, and explore environments that typified the master puppeteer’s world, such as Jim’s Office and the Television Studio. In addition to learning how Henson’s characters came to life and are still performed, see iconic puppets such as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.

A hidden gem of Atlanta! The Center of Puppetry Arts showcases the marvel of puppets we all love as well as its history. There were no crowds or lines which made me feel like I had the entire place to myself. I took a walk down memory lane as I admired the Sesame Street and the Muppets exhibit. And learned more about puppetry in other countries and cultures. A lovely addition to my travels!

The Jim Henson Exhibit was just incredible. I got way more emotional than I expected. Seeing these characters in person was like visiting old childhood friends. There are fond memories stitched inside that felt and fur! Puppetry is magical and The Center for Puppetry Art puts that magic right in front of your face! The facility is clean and neat, the gift shop is well stocked and full of curiosities and trinkets, and the price of admission is worth every cent - no strings attached! Thank you all for a magical experience! Can't wait to visit again next time I'm in Atlanta!
