Visit a winery in the Etna region. Taste famous local wine and enjoy a full traditional Sicilian lunch with friends and family.
What to Expect
On the north slope of Etna, Feudo di Mezzo winery was built on an historical lava flow of 1566, only using the lava stone, typical of the area. Sciaranuova estate, few kilometer away, is an old restored wine press, presently a wine shop and tasting room, beside the traditional Ribatteria with wood stove and a kitchen for convivial events.
The Palmento (millstone), has recently been rebuilt using the original architecture of the building, which goes back to the beginning of the 1900’s. This space is currently intended for hospitality but was originally where the grapes were pressed and the fermentation of the must took place in large pits excavated in the rock.
Enjoy the visit to the wineries and vineyards followed by a tasting of 4 wines and a selection of local extra-virgin olive oils. Then a small buffet of appetizers followed by a 3-courses lunch inspired by traditional Sicilian recipes of the territory, served with 2 wines. The lunch ends with seasonal fruit, local biscuits and coffee.
