Ee had Enzo as our guide and we honestly couldn't fault him: so knowledgeable, so fun, so considerate. He was the best! We'll definitely use this company again for our next hike up Etna in the hopes Enzo will be guiding us again. Wine tasting was good, 2 wines, various oils, jams and chutneys, then a couple of hoeny followed by 3 liqueurs. We couldn't help but grab a few goodies to head home with. Cave was fun! I wish we'd had maybe 5 more minutes there but I understand it was busy. Etna is freezing! The advice to bring a jacket is there for a reason!! Overall it was a great experience, made even better by the guidance of Enzo.

Full description

Explore Etna Park on a day tour that takes you up to the Sapienza Refuge and admire views from 1,986 meters. Learn how craters and lava tunnels are formed from your guide and try local products. At the Sapienza Refuge, see both the newest eruptions of the volcano and the old Silvestri craters, dating from the 1892 eruption. Enter a lava cave (if applicable), with a helmet and headlamp, to learn how lava flows are formed. Later, visit a well-known farm and taste local products, such as honey, olive oil, and wine.

Francesco is an amazing guide, we can clearly see his passion for Catania, Etna and his job. I spend and amazing day with him and the rest of the group. When you get to the base of Etna you have some extra paid options to go up, but we choose the walking tour that is already included in this tour, and I really recommend it, walk around Etna learning about it, and listening to all the Francesco stories was incredible. After the walking around Etna we had a lunch break of 20/30min, then we visited a Grotte and ended our tour with a Etna wine and some other product testing, which was really nice as well. I had an amazing experience with Francesco as would recommend it a lot (both you are looking for a tour in Italian - the one I did- or in English). Grazie mille Francesco, è state davvero bello conoscere la mamma Etna con la tua guida.
