Full description

After pickup from the designated meeting point, drive to Mount Etna to begin your tour. As you ascend to a height of 2,000 meters, your professional guide will tell you about the history of the volcano and explain the unique nature to you. Walk on paths away from the tourist areas to take in the flora and fauna away from the crowds. Different aspects of the volcano will be highlighted, such as its nature and resources, its amazing landscapes and the huge lava flows that have destroyed buildings and roads. You will be taken to a viewpoint to see the panoramic view of the Valle del Bove, the most important valley on the east slope of the volcano. Then with a helmet and a flashlight, you’ll visit and explore a lava flow cave. Learn about its origin and the features inside from your guide. You’ll also have the chance to sample the wines, liqueurs, and honeys from this area. At the end of your tour you’ll be dropped back at your accommodation in Catania.

It was a great experience and educational as well, Kevin our tour guide was more than great. He had a will to share his knowledge with us(and even take a picture of us with the view), he speaks English,french and Spanish fluently. Moreover, we went through some routes where the tourist buses wouldn't make it. I wouldn't like to tell you more but overall, I would recommend that 100%. Grazie mille amico

This was a great trip with a knowledgeable and very friendly guide. We met another couple from Jordan, they were amazing - we had really a great time. Everything described was delivered and even more - we did a small hike, visited Silvestri Crater, Valle del Bove (after a short off-road trek), a small lava cave (hornitos) and the degustation of olive oils, honey and wines was delicious. It is a very easy trip (we were with a kid) - don't expect real trekking; but this was impossible to do with another transportation (the bus option is risky - only 1 bus per day, and limited).

The trip was just perfect. Our guide spoke perfect English, explained everything to us in great detail and took the time for each and every one of them and did not rush us in any way or put us under any pressure. Andre was well prepared and can only be recommended. He showed us different places, also away from the hustle and bustle, where we could enjoy different perspectives as a small group. At the end of the excursion we were allowed to try wine, honey and local delicacies in a small family business and shop for really little money.
