Full description
Your visit starts with a pick-up from your accommodation in a comfortable minivan at around 8:30 AM. The first stop will be in Agrigento. This city used to be the richest of all the Greek colonies. Its wealth can still be admired by visiting the beautiful and impressive Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Here, see some of the best preserved Greek temples in the world. Pindar, the Greek poet and writer, described it as one of the most beautiful cities of those inhabited by mortals. The Valley of the Temples is famous for its well-preserved temples, seven in total. The Temple of Concordia is one of the best preserved Greek temples in the world helping the site to gain the classic UNESCO world heritage award. On the site, you can also visit the remains of many other temples dedicated to various divinity like Juno, Hercules, Hephaestus, and Athena. Then, you will get to visit one of the most amazing beaches in Sicily. A few kilometers away from Agrigento, you will find the Scala dei Turchi, literally translated to Turkish steps. It is a dazzling white rock formation, rising from the clear blue sea like giant steps. Walking this gentle slope, high above the sea on your feet, will let you enjoy a unique experience. Here, you will have free time to enjoy one of the most famous beaches in Sicily. A typical Sicilian snack which includes small pizzas, bottles of water and red local wine.

The tour was very varied and entertaining, not least because of the pleasant group. The guide went out of his way to meet everyone's expectations and provided a lot of information to keep us entertained. One participant then had to go directly to the airport and was delivered to the same location without any problems. The Valley of the Temples and the Steps of the Turks were beautiful, definitely worth visiting. Overall a great experience!

We were picked up comfortably at our hotel and had a very informative ride with our guide who told us a lot about the country, the people and culture. The visit to the Valley of the Temples was impressive, but a little short. If you want to spend more than 1 1/2 hours here you should visit this place individually. The lunch together was characterized by traditional Sicilian street food and wine. The Turkish stairs are impressive to see, this view. Just great. An all-round successful excursion.
