Full description

No trip to Sicily would be complete without a visit to the tempestuous territories of Mount Etna. Just jump in the shuttle bus and head out into the lunar landscape of one of the world’s most active volcanoes. At over 6,500 ft (1,981 meters), this majestic mountain dominates the coastline, concealing plenty of treasures within its lair. Starting at Rifugio Sapienza, follow the line of the old Sivestri craters down into a cave of lava formed during the eruption of 1792. From here, head to the province of Zafferana, where you'll visit a local organic farm and sample honey and wine, cultivated in the fertile soils of the region. En route to Taormina, look at the spectacular wildlife reserve of Isola Bella from above. Upon arrival, spend lunch at your leisure, then re-group to check out the highlights of this unique historical town. From the old-world charm of the ancient Greek theater to the breathtaking views of the Bay of Nexus and the striking architecture of Palazza Corvaja, this town steals the heart of every visitor.

The guide was very pleasant . He explains a lot of things , he enjoy the trip with us . Etna is an interesting place to see and Taormina is a very nice place to be . Despite there are 9 hours the time fly and you simple enjoy the whole tour .

Enzo was our guide. He was funny and accurate, and he could answer every question from us. We got enough free time to check seesights and shop. We hesitated which trip should be choosen (to go to very top of Etna or this: go to not the very top of Etna and see other things like Taurmina); i think we’ve chosen well.

One of the few package tours where they don’t drive you to places were you’re obliged to buy something. We did stop at this honey and wine place but there was free tasting so that kind of made it up. Our guide, Nando, was also very considerate and made sure he checked on the conditions on Etna to make sure that we won’t be wasting money paying for a trip to the top of the volcano when all we’ll see is fog. He’s also an excellent driver, how he managed to not ram into at least several cars and pedestrians still amazes me. The Taormina part is also really nice, they let you roam free and it’s entirely up to you where you’d want to stuff your face and you have all the time you need to take selfies
