Outstanding, a bucket list perfect tick...trekking an active volcano

This was a brilliant experience of the highest quality. It was exactly as described and more. It was an adventure experience with helmets, proper boots that we hired (at no cost!) from the company and this meant we had full confidence in the equipment and the company. They took safety seriously, which enabled us to take on an exciting endeavour without unnecessary risk. We were all of a good fitness , as required by this trek meaning that we felt accomplished afterwards. The explanations by a proper volcanic geologist were interesting and appropriate, providing insight without being overwhelming. The meet-up point was clear and convenient to leave your car. Owing to the early start, a hire car is the best way to get there and amazing views en-route. Although there are hairpin bends, they are not scary as there are no steep drops below, like alpine roads. Overall, a fabulous experience which I couldn't have been happier with , especially the periodic crater smoke billowing up.

The guides were fantastic and they helped out travelers that were slow. Because Etna was in an erupting cycle, we could not climb to the summit. Instead we traversed about 1.5 hours AROUND a large erupting crater. The thing exploded about every 10-12 min, and we saw many explosions. Because of the massive eruption and lava flow in July 2019, much of the wide path was covered with black hard lava rocks ( most were tennis ball sized) that we needed to climb over for about 45 min. It was hard, not easy. The guide said the Etna people don’t want to spend resources cleaning that up yet because it is likely to happen again in this eruption cycle. The last half hour was spent climbing down some inactive craters that was actually very difficult as well. Other than that we had a beautiful day, learned and saw a lot.

The guide was very passionate about the volcano. Spoke very clear and had lots of knowledge to answer any questions. The speed was perfect to have a very calm yet interesting tour. There really wasn’t any downside, would recommend it anytime!

awesome day at the Mountain, but it was really warm that day. If the sun shines, make Sure that you wear enough sunscreen. The Wind is kinda cold but we could be in T Shirts all the Time because of the Sun. Went there at the end of September

The tour was very well organised and exactly as advertised, the guide Luca was very passionate and gave a lot of explanations. The tour itself was very nice and the views amazing.
