Full description

Learn to cook like a real Sicilian in a typical palazzo located in Catania city center and get hands-on help preparing your own lunch or dinner from a friendly cook. Enter the home of your cook and teacher, Claudia, located in the heart of Catania, very close to all historic attractions, pubs, restaurants, cinemas, and theaters. Along with her husband, she has developed a refined menu of Sicilian recipes, using fresh produce and raw materials from the island. During your lesson, discover how to prepare the fish and vegetables bought from the local market and use olive oil produced in Sicily. Prepare a typical four-course meal composed of dishes based on the Sicilian tradition such as tomato and eggplants pasta or anchovies, flan, pasta with zucchini and pistachios, vegetable rolls with orange, and, of course, Panna cotta from the Etna region, all paired with local red wines.

Anna was very responsive to us, conjured up a delicious dinner with us (tagliatelle with pak choi and caponata) and also gave us great tips for our stay in Catania. We learned a lot about the country and its people that evening in a very personal atmosphere. Absolutely to recommend!!!

The meeting point is NOT where it’s supposed to be held at but it wasn’t a big issue, we had to walk another 5 minutes to find the place. The lady was super nice and hospitable, the area was very clean and she prepped prior to us getting there. We made fresh pasta, a salad and she provided bread and wine. Dinner was absolutely delicious and wonderful.

My husband and I enjoyed our time with Anna! She was a great host and amazing cook. Her passion for food is evident in her explanations in different types of food, wheat, flour... Apparently food runs in her family's blood! We made a delicious caponata, trapanese pesto and fresh pasta. She made us work for our lunch which is exactly what we look for in a cooking class. Definitely recommend her!
