First time for my friend (25 years old smoker) and myself (24 years old non-smoker). Very accessible route if you know how to put one foot in front of the other. Remember to take into account your physical (respiratory, etc.) and mental (dizziness, etc.) abilities so as not to penalize the rest of the group in their experience. Thanks in advance. Alessandro the guide was very pleasant, funny and professional. Answers to questions. Anecdotes that make the car journey go by very quickly. Leaves us a little freedom to have fun and enjoy the snow. We were only 7 that time. Many thanks to him. Very good support from start to finish. No complaints. Very nice experience to do and which would be regrettable not to do. Looking forward to coming back for a higher altitude!

The hike was generally very nice. The guides were also really great and were able to tell us a lot about the history and surroundings. However, the description of the hike was a bit misleading. It was said that anyone can easily manage the trek. But it was a very demanding and strenuous hike (600 meters in altitude). I would advise people who are not so fit or conditioned or who have knee problems not to do the hike, because you only go uphill in the steep enclosure for 3 hours and keep slipping down again because of the loose ground. I would say that I am in good physical condition, but it was very, very exhausting for me too. It is definitely worth the hike, but you should think very carefully about whether you are fit enough to endure it. However, it can be done if you take enough breaks and take your time going up.

I can’t begin to try to explain how much I enjoyed this tour! From the first second of meeting our guide Alessandro and 7 other fellow travelers, till the last goodbyes, I was amazed by the beauty and richness of the Etna’s wonders. Alessandro picked us up from the city center and on the way to the Vulcano shared some interesting facts about Catania and the whole region. After arriving at the starting point Alessandro lent us some trekking shoes and polls which definitely helped a lot in hiking. Overall the tour was a long one, but the last view was absolutely worth it. And for sure I would be very hesitant to hike so far up just by myself. It is most definitely the best trip I have had in a while. 5 (but could give 100) stars to Alessandro for keeping our company, answering all the questions, and sharing his passion with us <3.
