The Catholicon at the Monastery keeps the relics of Hosios Loukas. The marvelous mosaics and the architecture make the Monastery one of the most important monuments in Greece. In Greek mythology, it was the navel of the earth, the site of the Delphic Oracle and a major site for the worship of god Apollo after he slew the Python, a dragon who protected the navel of the earth. Apollo spoke through his oracle. The priestess of the oracle known as the Pythia had to be an older woman and sat on a tripod seat over an opening in the earth. Apollo possessed Pythia and she prophesied. People consulted the Delphic Oracle on everything from important matters of public policy to personal affairs. The Oracle exerted considerable influence throughout the Greek world and consulted before all major events. The ancient Stadium held the Python Games, which were one of the four Pan-Hellenic Games held every four years. We will conclude our visit to Delphi by having lunch at a local restaurant enjoying the view of the Itea Gulf followed by a visit to the Temple of Athena Pronea and the Gymnasium. The tour to Delphi was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Driver Perikles is a safe driver. Guide Theo impresses with his relaxed demeanor, often cracking jokes, while also displaying the intelligence and ability to keep the group engaged. Guide George is knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and exudes a calm, easygoing presence, though he maintains a brisk walking pace. In Delphi itself, the pace is a bit rushed, but this seems to be common for all tours. Nonetheless, the information is well-delivered. Particular for this tour was the small group size, which created a pleasant vibe. The tour was both informative and enjoyable, and the restaurant we visited a good choice . Likely one of the better tours to Delphi – recommended!

What a fantastic trip / company. Couldn't recommend enough. Pick up and drop off was great. The bus was super comfortable / clean and in excellent condition. Delphi was amazing to visit, both the site and the museum. If you visit Athens don't miss this trip. The driver and bus guide was great and the guide at Delphi super. She really know her stuff which helped us understand what a place this was. If you could only step back in time! Ate lunch in Delphi, organised by the bus guide, which we also fantastic.

Wonderful tour. There was only 6 of us, so we had a very personalised experience and full attention from the guide. The tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and full of resources. She gave us very good background knowledge and stories on Greek mythologies, the local culture and food and recommendations. The temple of Apollo guide (different guide) was experienced and answered alot of our questions. The lunch location was very delicious and not expensive.
