You can book different routes and there is also the boat tour. The good thing about this tour is that the buses run at frequent intervals, so you don't have to wait long to catch a ride. The boarding point for the boat tour was a bit confusing. We got on in Belém, there's a stop in a pastry shop that you have to go through. All in all, however, a good experience.

Good overview of the city and attractions. Recommend downloading their app to see stops and real-time location of the next bus.
