Departure from Sorrento with air conditioned bus and an authorized English speaking guide for a full immersion into the local history, visiting the suggestive archaeological sites of Pompei and Ercolano. Following the eruption of the Volcano Mount Vesuvio in the year 79 AD, Pompei lay buried and forgotten for hundreds of years. The town is high on the list of wonders of the world and the excavations begun in the 18th century are still being carried out today. The guide will take you slowly throught some of ancient streets of Pompei where you can see Baths, Forums and Villas built by Roman in the year 80 BC. Moreover it willbe possible to admire the incredibly well preserved Frescos which adorned the walls and the floors on the Villas. When the eruption of 79 AD occurred, Ercolano was submerged under a torrent of mud and lava that hardened into a soft tufa that preserved many of the wooden parts of houses and household objects which can be seen today. So this tour gives to visitors the possibility to have a better idea on the Roman lifestyle and on the dynamics of the eruption that destroyed the towns.

I felt the guide was critical to the enjoyment and that the AR Glasses portion added just 10% to the overall experience. Our Guide was knowledgeable and fun. The skip the line tickets worked fine. Herculaneum itself is AMAZING! I felt the overall price was expensive but it was worth it.

It was an excellent afternoon! Alessandra was a wonderful guide with lots of knowledge a kind approach. We learnt a lot of information, definitely worth the money
