It was perfect. They showed us all the sights and we were able to see them up close. Maybe if the tour guide had not been in live speech, but on audio, it might have been better to hear.

The experience will be worth your time and money, but there are several things you should be aware of before to maximize your enjoyment. In order to have enough time to visit the Blue Grotto, attempt to get to Capri or board a boat as early in the morning as possible. Bring cash with you to pay the 14 EUR per person small boat fare to enter the Blue Grotto. Second, because the trip may take up to two hours and the captain will wait at the Blue Grotto for about an hour, some of you may start to feel seasick. To prepare for this, take some motion sickness medication and avoid eating a heavy meal before boarding. The captain will provide bags but that’s all. Third, make sure you have water with you to stay hydrated as most of the boats will not have on board options to purchase water. Also, use a good deodorant as you will stick. Once will are inside the Blue Grotto all the bad things will disappear!

Set sail from the port at Marina Grande and enjoy a relaxing cruise around the rugged coast of Capri. See the highlights of the glamorous island as you pass the historic Punta Carena Lighthouse and the legendary Bagni di Tiberio (Baths of Tiberius) near a former villa of the Roman emperor. Pass the sea caves of the White Grotto and Green Grotto, named for the color of the water and the light effects of the sun. Admire the impressive sea stacks of the Faraglioni rocks and get lots of information about the island from your skipper along the way. Enter the famous Blue Grotto through a small entrance (if option selected) and continue to a large cave under the sea, where you will be amazed by the intense blue of the water caused by a natural phenomenon involving the sun.

Know before you go

  • This tour is subject to favorable weather conditions. If cancelled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
  • Bring sunscreen, a sun hat, comfortable shoes, and a camera
  • To ensure the smooth running of the tour, the boat can wait a maximum of 30 minutes for the visit of the cave, sea weather conditions permitting. If the waiting is longer than 30 minutes, you will return to the port and have the possibility to take another boat, which will transfer you directly to the Blue Grotto
  • If the Blue Grotto is not accessible, due to bad sea conditions, the duration of the tour will be just 1 hour
  • If you choose the tour with swimming option, the Blue Grotto stop is not included
  • In winter season (from the 1st of October to the 31st of March) the meeting point is at Lase Capri Ticket Office, in Via Cristoforo Colombo 69.

So, we was apprehensive at first to book any tour through here as we read reviews stating they didn’t get the option to go to the Blue Grotto… which is the main thing we wanted to do. But we are SO glad we booked it! It was amazing from start to finish! We caught the ferry over to Capri which was smooth and easy to do via the Omio app. Once we got to the pier it was very easy to locate our meeting point and got sign posted straight to the queue. The tour itself took most of the day. Ours started at 9.30am and we got back for around 14:30pm. This was mostly due to the waiting time at the Blue Grotto. We waited approx 1-2 hours on the boat in a queue for the Blue Grotto - alongside many other tour boats. It was definitely worth the wait! 1000%! You pay via a boat ticket office when near the grotto. Following the Grotto tour you get a full tour of the Island including sailing under Capri’s famous arch! Such amazing value for money & the tour guides were very friendly!
