Full description

Climb aboard and look for marine life in the ecosystem of Table Bay on a 1.5-hour eco-cruise from Cape Town. See species in their natural surroundings, such as humpback and southern right whales, depending on the season. Get the chance to watch pods of dolphins breaching close to the boat and marvel at their acrobatic displays. Be enchanted by Cape fur seals lounging on the jetties and get close to unusual species, such as sunfish. Watch African penguins diving for fish to take back to their breeding colony on Robben Island.  Encounter birdlife, such as terns, gannets, cormorants and mighty black-browed albatross.

It was a good smooth ride on a beautiful day. We were followed by a group of dolphins swimming around our boat and we saw penguins clearly as well as seals very closely. Hunchback whales were spotted too from a distance and we were lucky to enjoy an hour and a half in beautiful weather.

I find with these trips it’s best to keep your expectations low as you are at the whim of Mother Nature when searching for wildlife like this. However, our expectations were exceeded by far! We saw seals, dolphins, penguins, many local birds and a Humpback Whale! Our tour guide and spotter were professional and funny and very well informed.
