Traveling is only as deep as the people you interact with, and on this half-day tour, you will get to discover Cape Town in an up-close and personal way through the eyes of the locals. During your time together, you will have a chance to dig deeper into the multicultural side of Cape Town, and hear their personal stories of forceful removals from District Six to the rich cultural landscape of township life. This suburb was established in 1927, and was established specifically for Black Africans before the apartheid era. From here we move onto Shebeen (township pub) with the option to taste some traditional beer! How can you turn down a beer with the locals? If you're fortunate enough to be with us on a Sunday, we'll even have the chance to visit a charismatic church service in the townships! It's truly an experience not to be missed!

What people are saying about Khayelitsha

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I got lucky, and I ended up being the only person on my tour. But I was even more lucky to have such an amazing guide! Doney is a native Capetonian, and not only did she provide lots of information about the city, she was very knowledgeable about wine. She’s super personable, and we had a great time. At every stop, the wineries knew her, and I had a great experience at the wineries and during the travels. The wine was delicious and very affordable. While you can take the wine tram, I would highly recommend this guided tour instead. This was my last day in Cape Town, and it surely was a perfect way to end the trip.

The wine tour was really nice! Looots of information about life in SA from Doney. She is really an amazing guide. And the wineries were so beautiful. Everyone has its own unique character. Thank you!
