Positive: We had perfect transport to the lodge with a stopover for loo & coffee. We were warmly welcomed at the lodge and were able to see many animals, including lions, from very close up. Everyone was very friendly and we had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Negative: In our opinion, Aquila cannot keep up with the Garden Route Game Lodge. What you unfortunately notice at Aquila: It is geared towards the masses, i.e. hotel guests and day guests are separated into two areas, the safari group is very large with 24 people and not much is told to you. It was actually more about the correct positioning of the animals for the perfect photo than about the animals themselves. If you only have one day and don't want to drive that far, you can definitely have a great day here and see lots of animals. However, we would rather go back to the other, more personal lodge.

Everything was great, the transfer arrived on time and the journey was uncomplicated with a short break. Lunch was offered on site and you could look around a bit before the safari started. The ranger was super funny and offered enough time in front of the animals and gave lots of explanations.

A great way to go on a one day safari. The journey there and back is very pleasant, as every hour there is a break at a spar. We were greeted at the game reserve with a free drink (choice of white wine, rosé wine and grape juice), which was also offered again after the safari. Lunch was buffet and very tasty. I particularly enjoyed the lamb curry. On the safari we saw hippos, giraffes, zebras, rhinos, buffalo, lions, elephants, antelopes and birds. At the beginning of the safari, the guide tells us that it is almost impossible to see a leopard. My expectations for a one-day trip to a private game reserve were exceeded, which is why I can definitely recommend the trip.
