Full description

Join a whale-watching tour in Hermanus and visit the area with the highest concentration of whales on the South African Coastline. Launch from the quaint fishing harbor of Gansbaai and travel along the cliffs of De Kelders to see these magnificent creatures.

Along the way hear commentary about whales, and facts about right whales. Learn about the habitats and their feeding processes.

Look for southern right whales in their natural environment, along with dolphins, Cape fur seals, and other marine life. Keep an eye out for humpback, minke, and Bryde's whales frolicking in the ocean.

Catch a glimpse of the beautiful orcas, false killer whales, and enchanting African penguins. This tour offers a great selection of marine life and allows you to get an up-close look at wild animals.

Relax without an ethical dilemma as you support businesses that celebrate animals in the wild. Return back to the harbor at the end of your boating adventure.

Trip was good. Pick up was way too long. First picked up last dropped off. There should be a bathroom break planned for the trip. We were in the van 3.5 hours on the way to Gansbai. He stopped only because it was very needed. There should be a lunch break of at least 1-2 hours in Hermanus before heading back. Too rushed. Boot trip was very good and informative.

We were picked up by a private driver in a suburb of Cape Town, which was unfamiliar to us at first. However, he turned out to be a good driver who informed us in a variety of ways about his homeland on the two-hour drive to Gaansbai. The whale watching starts and ends in Gaansbai, which is another half hour away from Hermanus. On the two hour boat trip we were able to see 4 different whales and numerous seals. The highlight was a mother with her calf diving right under our boat. The excursion is not cheap, but the guides take a lot of time until they can really see different whales.
