What to Expect
This 4-hour tour takes you on a journey to the heart of local life in Cape Town beyond the usual tourist sights. You will get to experience the true South African way of life including visits to District 6, Bo-Kaap, Langa, Gugulethu, and Khayalitsha.
It is a tour with an emotional impact as you discover Cape Town's poverty-stricken culture and hear true stories of life under Apartheid.
You will visit District 6, the former multi-racial community that was declared "whites only" under apartheid. Tour the poignant District 6 Museum, set up in 1994 after apartheid ended.
You will go to Langa, one of the black townships and the oldest area in Cape Town to be designated for Black Africans only.
If time allows, you will visit an orphanage at Khayalitsha. You will have the services of an expert guide with local knowledge throughout. And you will get to meet leaders of the townships today and from the terrible days of apartheid.
