What to Expect
Explore the Cape Peninsula on the South Western tip of Africa by bike. Forget the Argus Cycle Tour crowds and go at your own pace. This is an extremely stylish cycling tour as guests can enjoy luggage transfers and luxury accommodations. After the 3 days you will feel rejuvenated and ready for anything!

Day 1: Train to Muizenberg; Cycle 40km through Simonstown to Cape Point Cottages

If you are staying in Cape Town, catch the train to Muizenberg Train Station. Here you will meet your AWOL representative and be given your bike, helmets, safety equipment, cell phone and maps. You will also receive a full safety briefing. Any luggage you wish to be transferred to your accommodation should be handed to the tour representatives here. Whilst you cycle luggage free, the AWOL representatives deliver your luggage to your accommodation for that night. If you are lucky you will glimpse whales breaching in False Bay. Stop to see the Casa Labia and the Kalk bay Harbor. After 40km of leisurely cycling you will arrive at your accommodation. Spend the night in a secluded stone cottage on farmland near Cape Point. This is a location surrounded by beautiful scenery and fresh mountain air. Guests have the option of either being supplied all ingredients to doing their own braai BBQ, or having meals delivered to the cottage.

Day 2: Cycle 36km Cape Point return OR 60 km cycle to Kommetjie
After a breakfast of fresh fruit, bread, eggs or croissants, cycle to Cape Point National Park. Along the way you will see baboons, bontebok and zebras! At the park you have a rest can dine at the Two Ocean restaurant. Here there is plenty to do, hike to the Cape of Good Hope or enjoy the splendid scenery of the park. For those who wish to cycle less mileage, you can spend another night at the Cape Point Cottages. Alternatively press on through Scarborough and Misty Cliffs. The route transports you through stunning coastal scenery and into Kommetjie. Here guests can spend the night in a luxury Guest House within walking distance to one of the longest beaches in the area. The ocean facing Guest House boasts rooms with a sea view, bathrooms with spa baths and double basins. Relax and enjoy independent DSTV and WiFi Internet. Enjoy an exquisite South African dinner and relax after your day of cycling.

Day 3: Cycle 40 km from Kommetjie to Hout Bay OR 70km back to City of Cape Town
Wake up to the sound of the lapping waves on the beach. A traditional English breakfast is served before you continue on your cycling adventure. Cycle to Masihumelele, the nearby town. After a guided bicycle tour of the town, you can cycle over the famous Chapman’s Peak and into Hout Bay. This is a superb spot for lunch as Hout Bay boasts numerous excellent restaurants and cafes. You may either finish the tour here or cycle into Cape Town. You are met by your AWOL representative who will return your luggage.
