What people are saying about Cape of Good Hope
We booked this tour last minute primarily to see the cape of good hope, and it exceeded all expectations. The tour guides were excellent, very knowledgeable from start to finish and really keen to impart a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area from start to finish. There was more than sufficient time at each stop along the way and time to see so many points of interest besides the Cape itself. Fantastic lunch recommendation and time to browse around Simonstown during the day too. In particular, Santana, Lucien and Armand really did an outstanding job all day, highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic throughout. Conveniently dropped everyone back to their hotel accommodation afterwards. This was by far the best tour we did during our short trip to CapeTown. I would highly recommend anyone travelling to the area to consider the tour.
We had a great day with our guide who was knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery and views from Chapmans Peak and the drive to Cape Point was fantastic and the boat trip to the fur seals was a nice extra. We also had an outstanding seafood lunch at the Seaforth restaurant at Boulders Bay, though this was much later than usual due to all the things we packed into the day. The only disappointment we that we ran so late we didn’t have time to take the penguins tour at Boulders Bay and had to settle for the public boardwalk which was still ok with close proximity to penguins but we had really set our hearts on the beach front walk here because of our children. Managing the time better would have avoided this disappointment but overall still a recommended tour with much to enjoy.
While at the beginning we were very upset as the tour operator Ktt told ud he did not received our booking and did not picked up early morning, after 1 hour they sent us a guide who was not supposed to work that day but helped them to solve the issue. Serge has been a fantastic guide that day, he decided with us what to see before and later and explained us very useful info concerning the country and their culture. He is really nice, knowledgeable and very experienced with tour around Capetown but also in the whole South Africa. We will come back and will call him again for sure
But, we were very disappointed that the cost of the tour did not include access to the Cape park... (an extra R606 and to the penguins an extre R200+!) which your paperwork implied we’re included. You should change your paperwork to clearly disclose that those costs were extra. Danson worked extra hard (and spent maybe a half an hour) trying to figure out why we thought we had paid for those entrance fees. Your paperwork is not clear and is in fact misleading. Danson got a five star rating but your paperwork only 1 star at best.
The overall tour was good. I would have liked to see more of the waterfront in Capetown before going to the Cape of Good Hope. The optional stop for Sesl Island was a rip off so just skip that and spend time touring the waterfront. Our group was great so the day was good. The price was a little high and too many optional things.
