Cape Agulhas, Hermanus & Stoney point Penguins full Day Tour

Come and Discover the true tip of the African continent and where the Atlantic and the Indian ocean meets. The tour will go easterly from Cape town via the scenic Whale coast route where the rugged Cape folded belt mountains rubs shoulders with the Atlantic ocean in the false bay. After a few photo stops on this majestic whale coast route, the tour will stop at Stoney point penguin colony. Here you will discover the African penguins from close range. From Stoney point, the tour will proceed towards the Hemel n Arde wine region. In this region is where South Africa has some of her best cool climate wines as this region is on a higher altitude and also receiving the sea breeze from the nearby Atlantic ocean. Here you will have a chance to taste South Africa's award winning Pino noir and Chardonnay. After the wine tasting experience, the tour will continue towards Hermanus. A quaint coastal town which is also South Africa's whale watching capital city. Whales can be spotted here from the whale trail along the shores between the months of June and November every year. Hermanus is also known to be one of of South Africa's gastronomy towns and you will be able to have lunch here before the tour continues South east towards Elim. Elim is a quiet and neat town that was established in 1824 by German missionaries as a Moravian station near Cape town. Despite extensive modernization in most small towns near Elim, very little has changes in Elim ever since it was established. Clustered whitewashed cottages with thatched roofs runs parallel the quiet streets of this beautiful town that has close to zero percent crime rate. While you are still here, you will be taken for a walk by your guide and visit different historic buildings to learn a lot more about Elim's history as well as the recent developments. From Elim the tour will traverse extremely south to Struis baai. Struis baai is the most southern town in Africa and it is here that the Cape Agulhas is situated. Cape Agulhas lies in the Agulhas national park. Consisting of a large part of South Africa's wetland reserves, The wetlands attracts over 20 thousand different bird species annually. The Agulhas national park is also a part of the Cape floral Kingdom which is the world's richest flora kingdom. The Cape Agulhas lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse in South Africa and a steep staircase takes one to the summit of the lighthouse for beautiful views of the town and the national park. After exploring the Agulhas, the tour will head North West towards the towns of Bredasdorp, Napier, Caledon, and Grabow before it ends in Cape town to complete an eventful tour to the Southern Most corner of Africa.

We travel there and back via different scenic routes and enjoy the sweeping views of Overberg’s wide plains, beautiful passes, and one of South Africa’s most spectacular coastal roads. Look across the rugged, boulder-strewn coast and the wild wild sea. Consider the thoughts, hopes and fears of the brave early seafarers who braved this coast in their small wooden vessels. We will look for birds along the way and hope to find our national bird, the endangered Blue Crane. We lunch at a farm kitchen or in one of the quaint towns that we pass. We tour at an easy, relaxed pace, with time to stop and enjoy each place. It is a way to spend valuable time well and to taste, smell, explore and listen. Your guide and host Jim, guides history, culture, nature, and wine in English and Swedish. He is Cape Town born and has lived most of his life here. He knows all sorts of special places. We had a fabulous trip. Ben our guide was exceptional. He made sure we were comfortable. Safe driver. Stopped frequently at Services. He was flexible, but made sure we arrived at the Game Lodge and Guest House in time to enjoy Game Drives and swimming activities. He was very knowledgable and had a good sense of humour. Ben was very helpful and considerate towards myself and husband, as we are over 60 and a bit slower than the others in our party. We all got on well. I thoroughly recommend this tour. It was a long drive to Garden Route Game Lodge on the first day. We very much enjoyed the Game Drives, visit to Aghilas, (had a lovely swim in Indian Ocean), Hermanus, seeing the Penguins and the Wine Tasting. I thoroughly recommend this Tour. Wonderful scenery.

Thank you Benjamin for providing such a great experience. He definitely made the long drive feel much shorter, just by providing so much information on the areas you are going to drive through. He made sure we got to experience the different sides of South Africa. Also very flexible when it comes to (bathroom) breaks. The safari itself was great too. There is a night and a morning drive included in the one night stay. We got to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, zebras, ostriches, different antelopes and so much more. Great choice if you want to venture a bit of out Cape Town and don't want / have time to fly to Kruger.

The Garden Route Game Lodge is very beautiful and the staff are all very helpful and friendly. Despite the bad weather, Thomas, our safari guide, showed us many animals in a short time, the only thing missing were giraffes. A very beautiful reserve for the Cape region. The bus ride with Frank was also very pleasant. He accommodated all requests. The only drawback is that one night's stay is perhaps a little too short.

Fantastic experience and great value too. Highlight of our trip to South Africa. Our guide Gareth was knowledgeable, humorous and helpful throughout.

Fabulous activity, guide and driver Highly recommend
