Full description

Book your round-trip ferry tickets in advance for a visit to Ste. Marguerite Island from Cannes. As soon as you disembark on the island, you’ll be captivated by the fragrance of pine and eucalyptus. Follow the marked trails that take you on a botanical and historical tour of the island. The walk takes you by Batéguier Pond, where numerous species of migratory birds can be seen, and to the Pointe de la Convention, where you’ll find unique plant species. Continue on to Fort Royal, the former residence of the legendary Man in the Iron Mask. The Maritime Museum, sheltered within a fortified enclosure, also offers an invaluable insight into the area's history. Dogs are welcome on board the ferry, and on Sainte Marguerite Island, provided they are on leash.

Great ferry over to the island. The direction to the ferry terminal is a little bit different from what the app says so make sure you go into the parking lot and go all the way down and you go up some wooden steps and the ticketing booth is there if you can see the water you’re not in the right place .

Stout shoes needed for walking stony paths and sea shoes to go into stony sea. Difficult to descend from pathway to pebble shore. Welcome ice cream before return trip. Very hot and picnic required too as not many chances to buy food/drink etc apart from ferry landing. Much enjoyed the trip and to see Cannes from a different perspective.

Bring your own lunch & towels . Definitely wear walking shoes (!) not flip flops to enjoy the long walk around the island. Totally worth the day trip as the water was turquoise, pristine & warm. To get the tickets walk all the way to the end of the waters edge. There you will find the ticket office to swap your QR code for a piece of paper ticket ( which is a must)
