Explore the diverse aspects of the Yucatan Peninsula — history, culture, nature, and wildlife — on this 10-day trip. Discover the Sian Ka’an, Calakmul, and Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserves, as well as the second-largest coral reef in the world, the Mayan jungle, unique wetlands, and the wide biodiversity that these ecosystems have to offer. Truly understand the history of the Mayans by visiting impressive archaeological sites such as Coba and Chichen Itza, and explore the colonial cities of Valladolid and Merida. Travel with a bilingual guide to learn about the sites you visit. Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival in Cancun Arrive at Cancun airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in a Cancun hotel, El Rey del Caribe or similar. Day 2: Coral Reef Depart toward the second-largest coral reef in the world to swim with sea turtles and coral reef fishes. After, visit the Tulum archeological site. Overnight in a Tulum hotel, Los Lirios or similar. Day 3: Sian Kaan Visit the amazing Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to learn about the great biodiversity in Yucatan. Hike in the jungle, and float in the wetlands. Day 7: Izamal Enjoy a city tour of the colonial city of Izamal and learn about its people, shops, handcraft projects, and more. Also, admire the Church of Izamal, which has the biggest church atrium in the world. Overnight in Merida, in Hotel Del Gobernador or similar.
