Full description

Dive into Mayan culture on a guided day trip with optional hotel transfers from Cancún or Riviera Maya to Chichén Itzá, named one of the New 7 Wonders of the World for being one of the world's best-preserved ancient cities. Enjoy a Mexican buffet and tequila tasting, and stop at Valladolid and a cenote. Your first stop will be at a Mayan community restaurant for breakfast with coffee and bread. Take this time to wake up and then go to stock up on souvenirs. Then, at Chichén Itzá, follow the guide while learning all about the most important buildings. From the awe-inspiring Pyramid of Kukulcan to the ruins that once housed tens of thousands of Mayans, the Pyramid of El Castillo or El Caracol, this visit is filled with rarely heard stories, incredible details, and stunning photo opportunities. Discover why the huge city played such an important role from the Late Classic period (600 AD) into the early part of the Post Classic period (1200 AD), and why it remained a huge center of pilgrimage. At this point, the fun is just getting started as no visit to the area would be complete without a stop by a cenote, a refreshing, enchanting underground sinkhole, sacred to the Mayan people. Then, enjoy a Mexican buffet lunch and a tequila-tasting experience. Before returning to your starting point, stop by the charming town of Valladolid, famed for the ornate, 16th-century Convent of San Bernardino of Siena and the baroque San Gervasio Cathedral. Enjoy a quick panoramic visit to this magical place.

Only reason it’s not a 5/5 is because we did not get a tequila tasting and we paid for the VIP but there was no difference in experience for the higher price. Besides that, Frank, our guide, and our driver, Luna, were excellent! Frank gave us a lot of information about the Mayans and we learned a lot! We even got our own Mayan birth chart. Luna was an excellent driver that made we got back safe. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

The tour was nice overall, comfortable bus, and our guide Edwin was very nice and knowledgeable, expect a bit of delay if doing hotel pickup, but no problem overall. The best parts were as expected Chichen Itza and the Cenote. The meal is the least exciting, but we knew ahead of time from other reviews, and did not come for the food. I would do it again, it was a great tour.

The guide, Pablo, was really nice and informative. - the morning is very disappointing, the visit do Valladolid is not even a visit. It was the most disappointing and it made us very upset. We just passed by the city by bus that drove around the main square. If you say we visit a city the minimum is 30 minutes to walk in the city. Because of this I wanted to give only 3 stars, but since I didn’t want to cause harm, I just hope you consider this for other visits - lunch was ok, nothing fancy but it was good. The stop there is also to make you buy stuff, very touristic. I wish we had cut the 30mim here to visit valladolid. The ritual is another way to make you buy stuff, but I guess this is common here -The visit in the chicken itza is good and Pablo did a great job. The amount of time there was good - the visit to the cenote was also nice and a good amount of time there - transportation was good Overall, good, just rethink the visit to Valladolid
