After a bit of an extended "discussion" about revising pick up time at the ferry dock (11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m). the drive from Chiquila (ferry pick-up port) to Cancun airport was smooth, comfortable, and we arrived with plenty of time for our 3:40 p.m. flight to Chicago. A discomforting moment, however, was when we existed the ferry pier, and no one was waiting with a sign (indicating our name/agency name) amidst many random taxi drivers. After searching for our driver, I finally located him standing behind a range of parked cars looking at his cell phone. Our name and reservation was in his phone; he was quite accommodating once I found him, but it was nerve-wracking for the 5-10 minutes searching, to feel as if no-one had arrived for our transfer. Central company representatives provided excellent follow up to our request for a 1/2 hour shift in pick-up time. The local representatives never responded directly. Drive was excellent; communication before could have been clearer.

We were met at the airport with a clear sign (with my name) so identifying the driver was easy (amidst the crowd). The local agency representative was welcoming, friendly, and efficient, and our driver was also welcoming, friendly, and the drive to the ferry connecting to Isla Holbox was smooth as could be. Upon arrival at the ferry, our driver arranged for the ferry tickets, we said good-bye, and transferred to the ferry. Couldn't have been easier. A fine beginning to our vacation!
