Pompeii: Small-Group Tour with an Archeologist

1. Pompeii: Small-Group Tour with an Archeologist

Transport yourself back to Roman times on a guided tour of Pompeii led by an archeologist. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site for 2 hours with the help of your expert guide, who will take you around the city preserved by volcanic ash from Mount Vesuvius’ eruption in 79 AD. Choose the experience you would like to have, with the choice of either a shared small-group tour or a private tour for your and your group alone. Skip the line when you enter the city at Porta Marina Superiore, one of the ancient city’s 7 gates. Walk the main streets and wander around the Forum, the old heart of the city and the center of public life. From here you can see Mount Vesuvius overlooking the city. Discover highlights such as the basilica (business and legal center), thermal baths, temples, bakery and great Theater of Pompeii. Listen to interesting anecdotes from your archeological guide, who will tell you about people who lived in Pompeii. Peek at plaster casts of those who were in the city at the time of the eruption. See well-maintained artworks, mosaics, and frescoes and travel back nearly 2000 years. Highlights include the House of the Vetti and the Lupanar Brothel. Find out how this famous brothel got its name and see its preserved stone beds and frescoes. Get great tips from your guide at the end of the tour about how to spend the rest of your day, or even choose to stay inside the archeological site longer to explore on your own. From Naples or Sorrento: Amalfi Coast Full-Day Trip

2. From Naples or Sorrento: Amalfi Coast Full-Day Trip

Discover the Amalfi Coast on a guided day trip from Naples or Sorrento and explore the secluded cliffside towns of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. Take a speedboat to Amalfi from Positano (or a bus, during winter season) and enhance your day with optional light lunch and boat tour. Join your guide at your meeting point in either Naples or Sorrento before boarding a small bus to your first stop, Positano. Venture into this secluded village with your guide, who will drop you in the centrally-located Amerigo Vespucci Square with views of the beach. After an introduction from your guide, enjoy an hour to yourself to explore Positano's pebble beaches, narrow café-lined streets, and colorful shops. Take in the stunning views of this cliffside town from the shores before embarking on a panoramic speedboat ride to Amalfi. What people are saying about Campania

This place is incredible!!!! Our tour guide was so informative and really gave me a great understanding of what it was like for the people who had lived there. I would recommend going as early as you can and make it a full day thing. There is so much to see here that you can miss a lot if you only alot a half day to this experience. When the tour is done, they let you stay in the area and continue walking around by yourself. Do not miss out on this.

The tour guide, Sabrina, was kind and intelligent- telling anecdotes to really immerse us in what it was like to be in the tunnel during it’s times of use. The tunnels are quite the spectacle and a great place for history-lovers to get their fill. Highly recommend!

very informative guide was very knowledgeable perhaps the lecture at the beginning should be done in 2 separate parts so that we walk a bit and digest some of the information

AMAZING views and history. Gave me chills and brought tears to me eyes at times to realize the historical events that took place on the very ground I was walking on.

Spent a lovely day in these 3 cities. The time in the cities was sufficient and the lunch excellent.
