After a 90-minute relaxing bus journey, you will enter the remote area Tamokdalen where our wilderness camp is located. Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and outfitted with the essential gear including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, ensuring comfort and warmth for the adventure ahead. After preparations and necessary instructions on how to control and steer the sled, the main attraction awaits: set off on your unforgettable dog sledding adventure! On the dog sled ride you will pair up with another guest, with two of you sharing one sled. One takes on the role of musher, guiding a team of energetic huskies through the snowy terrain, while the other enjoys the ride seated on the sled. Halfway, you will have the chance to switch roles, allowing each person to experience both the thrill of leading a team of huskies and the joy of being a passenger. After the dog sled ride, you will have the opportunity to visit our dog yard and indulge in some cuddle time with the huskies. To complete the experience, you can relax and warm up with a hot meal and drink by the open fire inside one of the lávvus (indigenous Sámi tent). With memories made for life, it is time to board the bus again for your return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of your adventurous day out in the Arctic wilderness.

With food and drinks served, gathered around the open fire, you will get the chance to relax and share stories of your recent adventures! During peak season, we might split the group to avoid large groups. Half of the group will start with a warm meal in the lavvu before heading out on their snowmobile tour. With everyone returned to the camp, it's time to board the bus and return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of an adrenaline-filled day in the Arctic wilderness!

The tour is designed to be easy and accessible: an experience guide will introduce you to the art of snowshoe walking at the start of the activity ensuring that even beginners can participate. The snowshoe hike offers a unique opportunity to explore the serene winter landscapes at slow pace. As you make your way through the snow, your guide will share fascinating insights about the Arctic environment and teach you some good ice-cold wilderness survival skills: how to sleep outdoors, what to eat and how to orientate yourself. Midway through the hike, we’ll pause at a nature camp where your guide will teach you how to chop wood and start a fire, on which you then will cook a delicious lunch. Upon return to the camp, you will be informed on when and where you are expected for the second part of your activity: the visit to Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park. After a 90-minute comfortable bus journey, you will enter the remote area Tamokdalen where our wilderness camp is located. The camp is located in untouched Arctic wilderness surrounded by darkness, far removed from the bright city lights. The area lies in a drier climate zone with clear inland mountain weather generating many cloud-free night skies in winter. Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and outfitted with the essential gear including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, ensuring comfort and warmth for the evening ahead. We will start the evening with a presentation about the Northern Lights (the Aurora Borealis) and give some tips on how to photograph them. Depending on the weather conditions, we will take you on a short walk to different locations around the camp from where the northern lights can be observed. If all factors line up and we get a display of the nothern lights, we will spend as much time as we can outside to make sure you’ll experience the magic to the fullest. Ensuring you stay warm and comfortable, we will serve a hot meal around the open fire inside one of the lávvus (indigenous Sámi tent). After dinner the evening at Camp Tamok has come to an end and it is time to board the bus and return to Tromsø.
