Full description

Hike Caminito del Rey, a suspended walkway surrounded by a scenic landscape, with a guide on a trip from Málaga. Along the route, learn the real story behind the construction of this great work of engineering.

Hop aboard a bus from Málaga and travel to Ardales. Receive a safety briefing from your guide and strap on your helmets. Start the one-way hike of Caminito del Rey at the North access and make your way to the South access.

Pass by mountains that emerged millions of years ago and vertical canyons born by the force of the Guadalhorce River. Listen to stories of adventurers and climbers. Hear about the visit of one of the most powerful men in the history of Spain, King Alfonso XIII. The trail has a length of 4.8 miles (7.7 kilometers) but is a simple walk, especially with your guide keeping you company. At the end of the trail, return to your bus and be driven back to Málaga.

Stunning! Amazing views! Luis the guide was fantastic! He was friendly and informative. I felt completely safe at all times. The paths were very sturdy and steady. We were lucky with the weather as well, sunny and not too hot. At the beginning and the end of the walk were toilets and cafés, but there were queues at the toilets. Be aware of the sun in hot weather! One guy looked really sun burnt after the trip. Bring water and something easy to eat on the way.

Overall experience was well worth doing! We found the pick-up location easily and met the tour guide who was hilarious. He also had incredible knowledge on the Caminitos history and the geography of the location. It was like being back on a school trip except way better. The Caminito itself is a really easy walk however there are a lot of stairs at the end and a suspension bridge which I found thrilling but anyone with a deadly fear of heights might not appreciate.

We had an amazing time! Luís was an excellent tour guide with a fun personality. We were happy that we could do a slow pace and had time to take pictures. It was very nice of him to take everyone’s pictures over the glass floor. Very nice experience!
