Full description
In just an hour and a half, walk through a thousand years of human history: from an Anglo-Saxon church tower to a contemporary and controversial clock that doesn’t even tell the time properly. See the rooms where Newton wrote his theory of gravity and hear the truth behind the apple tree myth. Visit the pub where Watson and Crick announced one of the greatest discoveries of the twentieth century. Marvel at some of the greatest examples of gothic and neoclassical architecture in the world. Inspiring, baffling, and downright outrageous: Cambridge is a city full of stories waiting to be told. Cambridge is nothing without its students, and it’s the students who make the tours so special. Combining a deep passion for the city’s history and architecture with the knowledge and experience of an insider, all the walking tour guides are either graduates or current students of the University of Cambridge. You’ll hear all about what the students really get up to – from college parents to lavish May Balls and the dreaded all-nighters in between. As well as hearing it all from the horse’s mouth, you’ll get to see inside two colleges, with highlights including the beautiful Pembroke College Chapel and gardens. This is the real Cambridge as experienced from within the college walls. Private tours are perfect for prospective students who would like to understand the application process, what to expect in the interview or have any questions about student life. The tour is led by someone that has once been in their position and gone on to be accepted successfully. Your guide will help you in any way they can to make sure you are moving forward with your application. You may also choose to book an option that includes a professional photographer for your tour to capture photo memories of you and your group.

We have enjoyed very much our privately guild tour of Cambridge university. Our tour guild Maria is very knowledgeable and helpful. Our 2 kids have learned a lot about history, campus life and study environment. We will definitely mention this tour to our friends back home when they visit UK. Mr Vargas

An excellent fit for us

Our guide was Daria, a Russian archaeology PhD student, and she was a perfect guide for our 10 and 14 year old daughters. Besides doing a great job with the tour itself, she could share some of the specifics from her experiences of what it's like to be a talented women in this particular highly competitive environment. She read her audience well, and tailored the tour to fit. Thank you, Daria. Well done.
