Calgary: Scenic Cochrane and Canmore Sidecar Motorcycle Tour

1. Calgary: Scenic Cochrane and Canmore Sidecar Motorcycle Tour

This 6-hour adventure leads to the Rockies by way of a less-traveled, more scenic roadway. From your pickup location in Calgary, head to Cochrane and its quaint, old western downtown streets. The drive along the Cochrane Hill highway offers views into the mountains and over the ranch landscape that lies before. From Cochrane, glide along the picturesque Highway 1A. The speed of travel is such that you’ll have a chance to enjoy the scenery and snap photos of wildlife as you pass by. Enjoy the ride past lakes and rock faces, as well as sweeping highway corners that reveal portions of the Bow River Valley. Arriving in Canmore, tour the townsite and visit the Alpine Centre, home of the 1988 Olympic biathlon and cross-country skiing events. A lunch stop at one of the local eateries, depending on your food preferences, is included. The return to Calgary can be along the 1A or along the Trans-Canada Highway as per your choice.

Calgary: Heritage Culinary Indulgence Bus Tour

2. Calgary: Heritage Culinary Indulgence Bus Tour

Take a culinary adventure that spans 3 fine dining restaurants in Calgary. Enjoy each course at a different restaurant and learn about the significance of each location on the way. As always, begin with the appetizer: hear a short history of the building before the appetizer is served, followed by a history of appetizers. Whet your appetite with the first course designed to tease your palate and provide anticipation of the rest of the meal.   After the appetizer, board the van and travel to the second location for your entrée. Along the way, you’ll be given a history of the next location where a special entrée has been prepared for you. Always a surprise, the entrées are carefully prepared, accommodating any dietary restrictions.   Following the entrée, board the van again and head to the final course of your meal—the desert. Learn about the history of the location while you anticipate a final topper to a delightful culinary evening. Follow your dessert with a coffee or tea to round out the evening.

From Calgary: High Spirits Adventure in a Sidecar Motorcycle

3. From Calgary: High Spirits Adventure in a Sidecar Motorcycle

This adventure showcases the spectacular scenery of the Blue Rock Wilderness and Sheep River Provincial parks. The trip begins with a short trip through the foothills southwest of Calgary.  Travel in the sidecar of a vintage-styled motorcycle through rolling hills, ranch lands and along mountain meadows to the headwaters of a glacial stream in the heart of Kananaskis country. There will be stops along the way for photos. Then, wind your way down the Sheep River Valley to the Eau Claire Distillery and the Chinook Arch Meadery where you can sample the local products. There may also be a stop at the world’s largest glacial erratic, the Big Rock. This tour is fabulous in the morning, as the light is exceptional for photography, or in the late afternoon with the sunset changing the landscape.
