What to Expect
Spend the day on Cabrera Island on an exclusive sailing tour from Mallorca. Discover an idyllic islet in the Mediterranean, and swim among fish in the turquoise waters.
Following a pick-up from your hotel (available from hotels between Camp de Mar and Son Veri), transfer to the Yacht Club Sa Rapita and climb aboard the transfer boat. Sail to Cabrera Island, once used to house French prisoners during the Napoleonic Wars, and swim in its surrounding waters.
The largest uninhabited island in the Mediterranean, Cabrera Island is now home to dolphins and sea turtles. Thousands of sea birds, including gulls and rare osprey, can be spotted among the rugged rocks and scenery. History buffs will find the island fascinating, as Hannibal is reputed to have been born here, and the natural harbor has been used by pirates and corsairs since time immemorial.
Once on land, climb to the medieval castle dominating the harbor for panoramic views. Enjoy plenty of free time to get to know the island and its virgin beaches. The coastal landscape is considered one of the best preserved on the Spanish coast. Hiking possibilities are abundant, and the island has been designated a Special Protection Area (SPA) for birds.
