Itinerary The tour will begin with a pick up at your hotel at 9:30 am. From here we will head to Cumbemayo, a site that houses a forest of large stone monoliths known as frailones. Did you know that archaeologists place the construction of this mysterious place around 1000 B.C.? In other words, it would be more than 3000 years old! We will visit the Cumbemayo aqueduct, the most important hydraulic engineering work of the pre-Columbian period. The most curious thing about this viaduct is that today water still flows along its 9 kilometers. We will tell you about its function, which is still a mystery. The Cajamarca region was sufficiently supplied with water, so in principle an aqueduct would not be necessary. So what was it for? Historians believe that the answer lies in the sanctuary, a huge rock in the shape of a human head where human sacrifices were made. In addition, next to the sanctuary we will see some caves that hide engravings in the rock whose meaning is also an enigma. Finally, on the way back to your hotel, we will make a stop at the Bellavista viewpoint, a place that will offer us fantastic views of the Cajamarca valley. You will love it! We will arrive at your hotels at 13:00 hours.
