Well planned out tour for basic introduction to Egyptian history. If you’re looking for a very in depth history then I’d recommend something more focus for a longer duration, there’s a lot planned in the day and not enough time to really get intimate. Knowledgeable guide and fantastic driver (you need one, traffic in Cairo is scary for foreigners). Standard fare for an Egyptian tour consisting of the base tour plus a few added stops to show you cool things but are sort of tourist traps to get you to buy things. Papyrus paper making was cool, carpet making is interesting but not practical. If you want to focus on the tour and not tourist traps recommend getting a detailed itinerary in advance and letting your guide know you’re not interested in the added stops. We added on the extra 1 hour camel ride but it was exactly 19 minutes long that consisted of a short walk to take a couple pictures and back.

My 10 year old son and I had a great day visiting the Giza pyramids, Sakkara and Memphis. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Egyptian history and archaeology - and he could answer all my many questions about the sites we visited, how to read the hieroglyphs, how to build a pyramid etc.

Great tour all around. Amro is a very knowledgeable and patient guide. I was adamant about the camel ride but, having done it, would definitely recommend it. You get to see the pyramids from a completely different angle. The camel walkers are also very friendly and take great pictures of you on the camel with the pyramids on the background. be ready to hand out tips though, as it definitely expected.
