What to Expect
Enjoy a day tour to the ancient city of Alexandria from Cairo in a new model air-conditioned private van with your skilled driver.
You’ll be picked up from your hotel in the morning to begin the 3-hour drive along the desert road from Cairo. When you reach Alexandria, visit the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. Next up, admire Pompey’s Pillar from the outside. This Roman column was erected to commemorate a historic victory back in 297 AD.
Continue to the city’s new library, the so-called Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This impressive library holds well over 8 million books, manuscripts, and ancient documents. Then you’ll get the chance to visit the Roman Amphitheatre.
Pause for lunch (not included), before continuing the tour with a drive along the coastline.
