What to Expect
Enjoy a 3-night cruise down the River Nile and visit the ancient archaeological ruins of Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan on this 7-day tour of Egypt. See the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, cruise down the Nile to Aswan, Kom Ombo, and Edfu Temples, and end at the stunning temple ruins of Luxor.

Day 1: Cairo
Arrive at Cairo International Airport and, after meeting with your guide, transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Cairo
Visit the Pyramids of Giza, one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. See the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the pyramid of Khufu's son Khafre, and the small pyramid of King Mecernes, as well as the world-famous Great Sphinx.

Before departing Giza, visit a papyrus workshop and see how traditional papyrus paper is made using the same methods that ancient Egyptian craftsmen used.

Break for lunch at a local restaurant, then continue to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. The neo-classical building, designed by French architect Marcel Dourgnon, contains more than 120,000 masterpieces, ranging from the pre-dynastic to the Pharaonic and Greco-Roman periods.

Be wowed by the artifacts of the child King Tutankhamen, and the relics of other Pharaonic Gods and Goddess. And visit the mummies room to learn about mummification art in ancient Egypt.

Transfer to the train station for your overnight sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner will be served on board.

Day 3: Nile Cruise - Aswan - Kom Ombo - Edfu
After breakfast on the train, transfer to the Nile cruise ship port in Aswan. Set sail for the High Dam and Philae Temple, situated on a small island in the middle of the Nile (Agilkia island). Explore the temple dedicated to the Egyptian Goddess Isis.

Lunch is served back on board the boat as you sail to Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile-god Sobek, and the falcon-god Haroeris. It stands at a bend in the Nile, where in ancient times sacred crocodiles would bask in the sun.

Set sail for Edfu, and enjoy an on board dinner.

Day 4: Nile Cruise - Edfu - Luxor
Explore Edfu, site of the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus, and an ancient settlement that was known in Roman times as Apollinòpolis. Just to the north of the ruins lie some important Egyptian pyramids. Back on board your cruise vessel, afternoon tea and dinner will be served. Enjoy a traditional Galabeya party as you sail overnight to Luxor.

Day 5 Nile Cruise - Luxor
Enjoy a guided tour of Luxor’s West Bank and Valley of the Kings and Queens. Used primarily for the burials of Pharaohs, from approximately 1539 BC to 1075 BC, the Valley of the Kings contains at least 63 tombs, while the nearby Valley of the Queens, where the wives of the Pharaohs were buried, contains some 70 tombs.

Admire the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, and the massive stone statues of the Colossi of Memnon, representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III.

Continue to the East Bank to see Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III from Nubian sandstone. You will also visit the other great monument of the East Bank, Karnak Temple, said to be the 2nd most visited site in Egypt after the Pyramids of Giza.

Return to your cruise ship for your final night on board.

Day 6: Luxor
Disembark after breakfast and explore Luxor at leisure. Optional guided tours to Abydos and Dendara by air-conditioned van are available. Tour the main Temple of Seti I, built around 1300 BC by Seti I and his son Ramses II. Notable for its fine reliefs, it is considered among the best monuments of the New Kingdom.

Then, tour the vast Dendera Temple complex. Surrounded by a gigantic mud brick wall, it was the site of chapels and shrines from the very early days of Ancient Egypt.

Transfer to Luxor train station for the overnight sleeper train to Cairo. Dinner will be served on board.

Day 7: Departure
Enjoy breakfast on the train. On arrival in Cairo, a tour representative will transfer you to the airport to catch your flight back home.
