What to Expect
Throughout the centuries, Egypt has been witness to some of mankind’s finest creations, from the Pyramids of Giza to the Alexandrian Library. On this 5-day tour, you will explore the Egyptian capital of Cairo, discover the magnificent necropolis at Sakkara, and take in the Mediterranean waters of the historic port city of Alexandria.

Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, transfer to your hotel for check-in. Your accommodation for the next 4 nights will be in a central 3-star hotel, with complimentary breakfasts.

Day 2: Pyramids of Giza, Great Sphinx, Sakkara & Memphis (B)
Pick-up from the hotel at 08:00 and drive to the Giza plateau for a guided tour of the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus, the last remaining of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Your guide will provide a fascinating narrative about the history of the pyramids, and describe how they were constructed over a 20-year period, concluding around 2,560 BC.

Continue to the Great Sphinx, where the head of a pharaoh and lion's body look out over the Valley Temple. Gaze in awe at the mythological creature, stretching more than 240 feet (73 meters) long and 65 feet (20 meters) high.

Visit a small workshop to watch artisans practicing the ancient art of papyrus paper making. Then, continue to Sakkara, the ancient necropolis of the royal tombs of Ancient Egyptian kings. Visit the first pyramid ever built in Egypt at the Steps Pyramid of King Djoser, and explore 2 more tombs that contain fantastic scenes from Ancient Egyptian life.

Next, visit Memphis, founded by King Menes in 3100 BC. The open-air museum contains extraordinary ruins of the temples of the ancient city, such as the Colossi of King Ramses ll. Drive back to Cairo for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Cairo (B)
Today you will take a city tour of Cairo, starting with the Egyptian Museum. Located on Tahrir Square, the neo-classical building was designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon and contains more than 120,000 masterpieces, ranging from the pre-dynastic to the Pharaonic and Greco-Roman periods. Among its most famous collections are the treasures of King Tutankhamen.

Continue to the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, and the Citadel of Salah El Din. Visit the Hanging Church in Old Cairo, as well as Abu Sirga Church, believed to have been built on the spot where Joseph, Mary, and the infant Jesus rested at the end of their journey into Egypt.

End your Cairo city tour in the labyrinth of streets at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, and see if you can bargain for some unique souvenir gifts.

Day 4: Alexandria (B)
Drive north to the awe-inspiring city of Alexandria on the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy a tour of the historic city, beginning with a drive through Mohammed Ali Square to Pompey’s Pillar. Explore the large Roman cemetery, the Catacombs of Kom Al Shugafa, and proceed to the Greco-Roman Theater and the Fortress of Quait Bay. End the morning at the immense Library of Alexandria.

After lunch, visit Montaza Palace and Park on the Corniche, where you will be rewarded with one of the best views of the Mediterranean. Stroll around the lavish gardens of the Palace, which has now been converted into a casino and museum.

Drive back to Cairo for your final night’s stay.
