Best snorkling is out by "the rock" on the end of the island toward the lighthouse. We did not make it to the lighthouse. Be sure you have good watershoes as a lot of the beach is broken coral. That is difficult to walk on. The beach by the rock is nice sand. We saw a turtle, stingray and lots of fish. The lockers to keep your stuff safe were not available and you are not allowed at the resort unless you are a paying guest but we had a snorkle guide who watched our things so that was nice. No incidence of losing anything.

Loved Fitzroy Island. It was an excellent day and we snorkelled with turtles the highlight of our trip ... However in the future I would spend the night to take full advantage of the snorkelling at different times of the day and also probably take a bigger vessel to Fitzroy. Unfortunately we had unseasonable weather and the crossing was quite choppy... it was bearable for those who don't get seasick but it wasn't so pleasant for those who do. Being on a larger vessel may have helped this a little.

It was a grand day, blue skies, sun and surf. The check in was easy, on time, the crew were very friendly and enthusiastic. The island was so beautiful and the snorkel gear and paddle board rentals on the island were reasonably priced. The hike to Nudey Beach wasn't as hard as i thought it would be and iy was worth it for such picturrsque views. We were so glad we brought beach shoes because of the rough coral on the beach. I felt baf for those barefoot. Also, Not bringing lunch to the island will cost you though because the food at the resort restaurant felt steep and we just had the salad and steak. Overall, it was a good return trip. We enjoyed ourselves.
