What to Expect
Beautiful Lamb Range is located 2.5 hours west of the Cairns area. This is the only tour operator providing trips to this area so don’t expect to see much traffic on the walk.

Expect an early start. The 4WD vehicle and professional guide will take us on a journey through the area’s natural history. Heading westward, drive up to the beautiful scenic Kuranda Range and continue along the Kennedy highway to Dinden National Park. Find some shade and prepare yourself for the walk.

The Turtle Rock track consists of open woodland and Savannah species such as Salmon Gums and Grass Trees, as you gain height you’ll notice abrupt granite boulders coursing the summit area.

Kalphalim rock trail is a 10 kilometer experience of a lifetime. The rainforest habitat with its beautiful Oraniopis palms and Cycads will amaze you. Experience the ancient smells and sounds of a rainforest that survived the breakup of the Gondwanan Supercontinent.

There are several peaks to this ridge trail, all offering different views and abundant natural landscape.

On your return we usually stop in for a swim in one of the gorgeous local swimming holes or creeks. (swimming gear can be left in vehicle, not taken on walks).

Once you’ve been rewarded for your physical efforts and had a nice cool dip, dig in to some provided tucker. (lunch).

After lunch travel East and head to Chlosey River State Forest where you will visit the breathtaking pocket of Strangler Fig Rainforest.

Now you can compare the major natural biodiversities of the two sites. Head back in the direction of Cairns and enjoy some local stories and a scenic stop on the way, arriving back into Cairns at a reasonable time of 5:30pm.
