Activity was very well thought out and organized. What made it so fun was our guide Tina, she tried so hard to make it extra memorable for everyone by allowing us to do fun games and tricks on the river. Because the weather canceled the Barron river we had to switch to the Mulgrave river which wasn’t as crazy rapids but was still so beautiful and a great experience. Loved this activity so much, would definitely recommend.

Full description

Experience white-water rafting in Barron Gorge National Park, known for its rugged rainforest mountains, steep ravines, and the falls carved out over thousands of years by the Barron River. Enjoy optional pickup from Cairns or Port Douglas before heading to the national park.

Meet your guide at Lake Placid, and get ready for your river rafting tour on the river. Enjoy the area’s scenic beauty and a combination of calm water and a series of white-water rapids as well.

Spend two hours navigating rapids up to grade three. No experience is necessary, making this a good choice for beginning rafters. There is also plenty of excitement for the more experienced.

Meeting point

Please arrive at 2.15pm to meet our staff at 2:30pm. Each participant must complete an online check-in prior to rafting. This will be sent via SMS on the morning of your tour. Park in the Lake Placid parking lot. Do not enter Lake Placid Van Park (this area is private property). You will board the tour bus at Lake Placid and the bus will take you to the launch point. The tour will finish at the car park where your car is parked. Leave your personal belongings in your vehicle. We can take care of car keys etc.
