Full description
Start your immersion into the culture and nature of the Kuranda Rainforest with a ride aboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway. Wind through the mountains and rainforest to the village of Kuranda, known for its heritage markets and colorful crafts, and enjoy free time in Kuranda Village.  Upon arrival, experience Australia's largest butterfly aviary at the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary with 1,500 tropical butterflies, including the vibrant green Cairns Birdwing. Next, travel by shuttle to the Rainforestation Nature Park for a barbecue buffet lunch.  After lunch, explore the rainforest by 6WD amphibious vehicle as you climb aboard a World War II Army Duck that can driver over land and in water. Search for wildlife as you learn about the plants and trees of the surrounding rainforest. Then, sample some exotic fruits and locally-made ice cream at the Tropical Treats fruit orchard.  Learn about Aboriginal culture at the Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience and watch spear-throwing demonstrations and traditional dances. Try your hand at throwing a boomerang, and hear all about the didgeridoo. Then, get up close to Australian animals including koalas, dingoes and the endangered Cassowary and Lumholtz's Tree Kangaroo. See typical Australian critters including wombats, Tasmanian Devils, crocodiles, lizards and birds. Feed the kangaroos and wallabies by hand. Then, travel back to Cairns on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and ride over the canopy of the pristine rainforest. Transfer back to your accommodation at the end of the tour services.

All the personel were fantastic. The 2 bus drivers (rather guides - Adrian and Adrian) were funny, entertaining, professional. They made every second of the time spent together a joy. Reece, the rainforest guide, is an amazing guy. He knows everything about the forest and the way he presents it is fabolous...

Good excursion

At the beginning we thought it was a guided tour. But it's not like that. They leave you at the train station and you go your air. At the end of the train journey there is a driver who gives you the option to take you or if you walk a very commercially pleasant walk the town focused on tourism. In the sanctuary of the butterflies we entered alone then a driver picked us up to take us to lunch (lunch is 10), to catch or hug the koala is not real, it is only for tourist's claim to take a picture for 3 minutes. .. as in other places. The rest of the tour good but there is no guide as such is a driver service that takes you and awaits you by bus.

Despite torrential rain, a great treat - highly recommended

Because of the rain the train was canceled. This was well reorganized so that we were able to do the tour despite everything. Which was a shame - there was no demonstration of the boomerang for the dreamtime walk in rainforestation. And didgeridoo and javelin throwing ran in parallel. This allowed us to watch only one of the demonstrations and explanations offered. Otherwise everything as offered and very well organized.
