Normandy: Explore The Historical sites of D-Day

Spend a comprehensive day exploring the historical sites of the D-Day landings with our expert local guide. Departing from either Caen or Bayeux at approximately 9am, you'll embark on a journey in our comfortable 7-seater van to visit key locations along the Normandy coast.

Our first stop will be at the American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, a poignant tribute to the Allied soldiers who lost their lives during the Normandy campaign. Here, you'll have the opportunity to pay your respects and learn about the significance of this solemn site.

Next, we'll proceed to Omaha Beach, where you'll walk along the sands that witnessed one of the most challenging assaults of D-Day. Your guide will recount the heroic efforts and sacrifices made by the American forces during the landings.

From Omaha Beach, we'll continue to Pointe du Hoc, a cliff-top location that was a strategic objective for the U.S. Army Rangers on D-Day. Explore the remnants of the German defenses and admire the panoramic views over the English Channel.

Our journey will then take us to the charming town of Sainte-Mère-Église, famous for the story of paratrooper John Steele whose parachute caught on the church steeple during the airborne assault. Discover the town's history and its role in the liberation of Normandy.

Finally, we'll visit Utah Beach, another critical landing site where American troops achieved significant success on D-Day. Explore the beach and its memorials, gaining insight into the events that unfolded here.
