Oliver was an excellent guide. He was knowledgable of the Allied and Axis strategies. He was on time, one schedule, and very helpful. The driver and Oliver we very safety concious and assited passengers with their entry and exit form the vehicle. Thanks so much for providing a memorable expierience for my wife and myself. Good Job well done!
We were lucky. Only two others joined the tour, so there was plenty of room in the van. Our guide, Mario, was charming and extremely knowledgeable. The D-Day beaches portion of the tour was very moving. It is hard to imagine now how much courage it took to wade through freezing water (yes, in June men died in the water of hypothermia), cross 100 yards of beach under fire, and scale the bluff. The American cemetery is so beautiful that it is hard to remember that every one of the thousands of stones represents a family tragedy. Our driver, Patrick, was very skilled. he maintained a brisk pace without any hint of jerkiness. Also, my wife skinned her hands in a stumble on the beach, and he insisted on helping her bandage them. It was really a wonderful trip.
