From Barcelona: Personalized Salvador Dalí Costa Brava Tour

1. From Barcelona: Personalized Salvador Dalí Costa Brava Tour

You’ll be picked up by private transport to begin this 10-hour personalized tour through the idyllic landscapes of Costa Brava. Experience the sites important in the life of Salvador Dalí, one of the world’s most important Surrealist painters. Head first to Figueres, a small town near the border with France and one of the points that make up the so-called Dalí Triangle.  Salvador Dalí was born in Figueres and spent his childhood here. Get to know the streets and places that marked his early years as well as some of the places he frequented as an adult. Next, you’ll visit the Dali Museum, called the largest surrealistic object in the world. Designed by the artist himself on the ruins of an old municipal theater, the Museum takes you into the painter's mind via a collection of the strangest artifacts you can imagine. Follow the footsteps of the artist to Cadaqués, one of the hidden gems of the Costa Brava. The easternmost of the villages on the Iberian peninsula features spectacular views of white houses, the sea, and the capricious forms of the mountainous terrain.  Walk around the town center, relax at the waterfront, and enjoy the cuisine of a traditional fishing village. Just a mile from Cadaqués is Portlligat, the last stop on your itinerary. In 1930, Dalí made his home in this tiny, charming cove, building his house from a group of fishermen's huts. It has since been converted into the House Museum as it is the site where the painter created his most important works. Take an intimate tour through the rooms where he lived with his beloved wife and muse, Gala.

You’ll visit his favorite haunts and secret hideaways, as well as the legendary Dali Museum at Figueres and his former home near Cadaqués. Go from Barcelona to Figueres, where you’ll visit Dalí’s birthplace and the extraordinary museum dedicated to his work. The tour continues to the beautiful coastal village of Cadaqués, famous for its whitewashed Mediterranean houses and narrow streets. With its charming bay, it is one of the most picturesque villages on the Costa Brava. What is particularly stunning is the dramatic scenery on the drive there. For lunch, you can enjoy local seafood specialties at one of the numerous terraces, or grab a sandwich and relax on the beach. You’ll soon understand why Cadaqués inspired Dalí and so many other artists. Travel up the coast to the smaller village of Port Lligat, where Dalí sought the peace and quiet that truly inspired him.  The winter schedule (September 1 to June 30) starts with a drive to Figueres, where you will spend the morning exploring the Dalí Museum.  From the museum, drive to Cadaqués. After lunch at your own expense, continue exploring Cadaqués or head to Port Lligat, to visit Dali's House. The summer schedule (July 1 to August 31) leaves Figueres for Pubol Castle, once the home of Dalí and his wife Gala, located in the village of the same name. Beautiful experience! We had enough time to explore the cities. Our guide, Paulina really made a difference with the way she delivered the information and how she managed to entertain us. Everyone was so happy with the way she handled the bilingual situation of the group, and she has a lot of knowledge about the places we have visited. Totally worth taking this trip

Very interesting and at the right times. The guide Ms. Paulina is very nice, empathetic and concerned about the group at all times and with a lot of interesting historical information. An excellent activity. I recommend it.
