Spend a day in the natural habitat of fascinating wildlife creatures at Litchfield National Park. After being picked up from your accommodation, ride to the famous Adelaide River. There, you'll board your private boat and cruise up the river. Feed the crocodiles from the boat that teem in the water and see an abundance of wildlife all around you. You may even see a crocodile launching itself out of the water with the power of its tail. At the famous Litchfield National Park, you'll visit three waterfalls – the Wangi, Florence and Buley rock holes – and get the opportunity to swim in all three. Lunch is prepared in the park by your guide – a big bush picnic with an array of wraps, cold meats, bread, salad and fruit. Snacks are also included along the way if you're ever feeling peckish. Local and knowledgeable guides will give you thorough commentary throughout the day and stop for lots of photo opportunities. Marvel at the magnetic and cathedral termite mounds, and take time to visit the butterfly farm. Return to your accommodation in Darwin, or on Sundays and Thursdays, at the famous Mindil Beach Markets.

Leave Darwin and make your way towards the world-class Litchfield National Park, just over an hour's drive from the city. Be surrounded by thick pockets of tropical rainforest, a cool respite from the top-end heat. Jump on the famous Jumping Crocodile Cruise (optional extra) on the Adelaide River, alternatively visit the Fogg Dam Conservation Centre. Explore the traditional lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people and discover the diverse wildlife, home to numerous species of birds, turtles, water pythons, and the iconic Saltwater Crocodile. Visit some incredible monolithic Magnetic Termite Mounds, then have an opportunity to cool off in one of Litchfield’s beautiful natural plunge pools like Buley Rockholes or Wangi Falls. Go to a thundering waterfall-like Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls and marvel at the sheer beauty carved out amongst the rocky escarpment. After a day in the stunning tropical national park, travel back to Darwin.

We travel in comfortable minivans in small groups of 6-11 guests only, and we will make sure you are spoilt for the whole day. Just sit back and enjoy the views, traveling through savanna woodlands and ancient sandstone country. We will break at the only small township of this region, Batchelor, a place of rich mining and pastoral history. Litchfield offers pristine creeks, water holes, and cascading waterfalls. We will visit Wangi and Florence Falls and have time for walks and swimming at the Buley rock holes or enjoy the beautiful scenery. Due to our small group size, we can tailor the day to your liking. Litchfield National Park is the home of the Cathedral and Magnetic Termite Mounds. We will stop and learn about these natural architects of the bush, the termites. Our professional and experienced guide will share the colorful regional history of settlers, Aboriginal locals, and the first pioneers in the region with you. We offer a healthy Picnic Lunch (We will contact you before the tour for the lunch option), or you can bring your own or purchase a sandwich on the way to Litchfield. We offer fresh fruit, snacks, and iced water for you all day. You will be traveling in a comfortable, air-conditioned Toyota Minivan and we have sunscreen, insect repellent, and swim noodles available. At the end of the day, on the way home we stop at Berry Springs for another swim and the option to drift down the warm stream of waterways at Berry Springs. Please note that Berry Springs has a limited swim season, usually from May/June to October.

Spend the day soaking up the spectacular natural beauty, hiking through lush monsoon rainforests, and swimming in pristine plunge pools surrounded by steep escarpments. Depending on conditions, you may visit Motor Car Falls, Moline Rockhole, Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), or Jim Jim Falls. Time permitting, stop at Nourlangie Rock, a rock art site where archaeologists uncovered works dating back over 20,000 years. Explore the evolving cultural and environmental changes to the area, before returning to camp for dinner and a well-earned rest. Day 3: Litchfield National Park to Darwin An exciting day awaits as you head out of Kakadu National Park and travel towards Litchfield National Park. Spend the afternoon immersed in Litchfield’s natural oasis of waterfalls, spring-fed streams, and rugged sandstone escarpments. Visit Buley Rockholes, Wangi Falls, or Florence Falls for a refreshing soak in picturesque rock holes and waterfalls. Your Top End adventure begins with pickups in the city at your accommodation doorstep before heading out for an early morning dip and homemade resfreshments in the crystal clear thermal waters of Berry Springs. Paddle around and watch the many fish, look for turtles, or sit casually under the waterfall - it's your decision to make. Having set the tone for the day it is then off to Litchfield National Park. Visit those places that shine for you on the day and suit your small group on board the most. Your guide will tweak the schedule to bring you the best that is on offer on the day. Some of the possible gems include the iconic Cathedral and Magnetic Termite mounds, Wangi Falls, Tolmer Falls, Florence Falls, Buley Rockhole and Tabletop Wetland. There is also ample opportunity to go for short strolls or just sit and relax. If bush craft and natural history is of interest to you, you can be shown some of the native plants and their uses by knowledgeable guides.

We are overqualified and over-certified. Over transparent! Pick Up at 7.00 AM Breakfast in nature, Manton Dam and Batchelor First stop will be at Menton Dam for our sunrise breakfast in Nature. After breakfast we are going to head to Batchelor, the southern entrance to Litchfield. We can visit Rum Jungle Lake, the old mine now a very deep 80 meters lake. Termite Mounds 20 minutes after Batchelor we are going to stop at the spectacular termite mounds to appreciate the hard work of the Cathedral and Magnetic Termites. Buley Rock holes Very close to Florence fall we are going to visit the beautiful swimming holes. It should be quite early in the morning, avoiding the big crowd. Florence Falls Our first waterfall! you can choose to swim in, or just to appreciate the beautiful lookout. We have 135 steps to get there, but don't worry, Mattia will help you.! Dry season this place can get very busy, but Mattia will show you very quiet places to swim in, always giving you a not crowded alternative. We love nature when we can listen to it! The Lost City is a series of impressive towering sandstones in Litchfield National Park. GREENANT Greenant Creek is a walking track to the top of the Tjaetaba Falls in Litchfield National Park. The walk is a 2.7km return track that starts at the picnic area near the carpark. You can swim at the top of the waterfall. Wangi Falls Welcome to one of the wildest corners of Monsoonal vine Forest, our tropical forest in the Top End. You can enjoy the Lookout and a beautiful walk in the ancient forest, and an optional swim if you feel in the mood. We spend the Night in Litchfield. Basic accommodation included in the price (I am happy to send you the photos of the accommodation prior the tour). On the Second Day CASCADES We will stop at Cascade car park to have our breakfast. We are going to walk to the upper pools enjoying this shining and clean natural SPA. We are going to get the famous Rynold track! An adventurous off-road drive, taking us to the hidden gems of Litchfield! SANDY CREEK (TJAYANERA FALLS) Explore this 3.4-km out-and-back trail near Litchfield Park, Northern Territory. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 46 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The falls plunge pool is very large, deep and popular for swimming in the clear deep water. A great spot to enjoy a picnic lunch and relax by the waterhole.
