Explore Tigre and the Parana Delta on a day trip from Buenos Aires. Take a boat ride through the many channels and islands of the Delta and stop to enjoy a riverfront lunch. Visit a popular market at the Port of Fruits or in San Telmo on the way back.
What to Expect
You’ll depart Buenos Aires by the city’s longest road, Avenida Libretador, and head to the Tigre Delta on this full-day excursion.
Once you arrive in Tigre you’ll take a relaxing 1-hour boat ride through the Parana Delta. The Delta consists of a series of islands connected by rivers and streams that flow into the Rio de la Plata, the widest river in the world.
After sailing through the river’s channels you’ll be treated to a delicious lunch while enjoying views of the Parana River.
Next is a visit to the Port of Fruits, a big artisan and craftwork market that was once the fruit and wood market for Tigre. Spend some time in San Isidro to have a look around the neighborhood and learn about its history and people.
On the way back to Buenos Aires you’ll pass by the residential neighborhood of Olivos, where the presidential residence, Quinta de Olivos, is located.
The bus will drop you off downtown after the tour. On Sundays, you won’t visit the Port of Fruits but the San Telmo neighborhood instead, where you can explore the famous San Telmo flea market.
