Full description
Stroll through the colorful streets of Palermo in Buenos Aires on a guided walking tour. See thought-provoking graffiti and street art while learning about the neighborhood’s history from your guide.   Travel back in time to the 1920's and understand the political movements gaining traction in Argentina at the time. Discover how graffiti was seen as political endorsement and how it was used as propaganda and for election campaigns.   Then, learn about the arrival of aerosol paints in 1969 and the influence of a different military government. Discover how the new material allowed messages to be written much faster than before and how this impacted the urban movements during the 1970's. Listen to stories about how Argentinians became progressively more involved in the act of protesting and the social conflict of the time.

excellent. The guide was charming, funny and informative. He has some misinformation on the topic of graffiti in the United States. It's not mostly gangs and drugs. It really is mostly kids. Also, the person he identified as Spike Lee is Giancarlo Esposito he played "Bugged Out" in the film. Do the Right Thing by Spike Lee. In the US, it's not good to confuse African American men who don't look that much alike.

The tour was amazing! Our guide Vito was really knowledgable and told us lots of really interesting facts about the art we saw. The tour was well organised and we saw lots of amazing street art in and around Palermo and learnt a lot about the history of the art form as well as the city and the culture of Argentina itself. Highly recommend!

Tiago was an excellent guide. He only told us at the end that this was his first tour. He allowed his personality to come out, had good command of the subject matter and was an able leader. He conducted an excellent tour and made it interesting. Thank you.
