In this walking tour, we will look for a tour of the city through its buildings. We will start with Plaza de Mayo. We will see the Cabildo of the city, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Casa Rosada and Banco Nación and then head north through Reconquista Street and make a stop at the headquarters of Banco Hipotecario and its Brutalist facade. Microcentro coexist many styles and different architects. Then we will continue to the CCK, former Palacio de Correos y Telégrafos (Post and Telegraph Palace) to stop and see its facade and history.
Going up the mythical Corrientes Avenue, the center of the nightlife and culture of Buenos Aires, we will pass by two icons of the street, the Gran Rex and the Opera, which had their heyday and today are still places of great congregation and shows.
The first part of the tour ends with the Obelisk of the city and the Plaza de la República. You will learn about its history and importance for the political and social life of the country.
Continuing along Diagonal Norte, a brief pause at the Obelisk staircase. A panoramic point to have the most beautiful views of one of the busiest intersections such as Av. 9 de Julio and Corrientes.
Arriving to the last part. Plaza Lavalle with two famous buildings such as the Courts Palace and in front of it the Julio Argentino Roca School. We will have a mate tasting and learn a little of its history and then finish at the Colon Theater with the option to stay there and take the guided visit inside it.
