Full description
On this fun-filled half-day tour of Tigre and Buenos Aires, embark on an adventure that offers the perfect balance between nature and history. Take in the views on a boat ride, shop for local products at a market, and head to Victorica Avenue, the coastal walk. After hotel pickup, hop on a cruise on the widest river in the world while getting spectacular views of the Buenos Aires skyline from the waters of the Río de la Plata (La Plata River). After one hour on the river, arrive at the Parana River’s Delta, a place that truly feels like a fantasy land. Once in the delta, the boat ride continues through a series of narrow channels and islands, a popular weekend getaway for residents of Buenos Aires and an everyday home to thousands of islanders. Experience the majestic scenery that's very different from anything you have seen before while learning all about the locals who live along the peaceful channels with boats as their only means of transportation. At lunchtime, the boat will drop you off at Tigre, a major city within the Buenos Aires suburbs. Enjoy an authentic snack including empanadas (local pasties) and drinks at a historical venue that belongs to the Italian Rowing Club of Tigre City. For the rest of the tour, hop on board a vehicle and drive through the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires to get an overview of what life is like in the outskirts of Argentina’s capital city, home to about 25% of the total population of the country. Along the ride, visit several sites, including the fruit market, a type of bazaar where locals shop for home goods and where you can find some authentic souvenirs. Head to Victorica Avenue the coastal walk that borders the Luján River to reach the elegant gardens that surround the headquarters of the Tigre Deliberative Council and the Tigre Art Museum. On the side of the road, there are bars, restaurants, grills and ice cream parlors that give shape to a gastronomic center where calm reigns, an atmosphere that replicates the serenity transmitted by the open view of the river just steps from Tigre’s downtown. Once the trip is over, get driven back to Buenos Aires. You can choose to be dropped off somewhere on the way to keep exploring the city or you can be taken back to your hotel.

Our group was about 10 people. We took a boat to Tigre. There in Tigre, we first started with empanadas, and then got 20 minutes to explore around the fruit market which is mostly artisanal shops despite the name. After that we also took a short walk outside the beautiful Tigre art museum without going in. Overall, it was a nice easy going trip. Our host, Shael (i hope i spelled that right), was fun and enthusiastic. Would only do this trip once but worth it if you havent done it and looking to get out of the city for a bit.

The boat trip once you get to the delta is great. First 20-30 mins out of Buenos Aires can be a little choppy so beware if you’re prone to seasickness and don’t have breakfast! 🤣 Tigres is nice, not that much to see but pleasant to walk around. The snack was fine but really wanted to try the meats being barbecued rather than empanadas or salad!! Jael our guide was lovely and very chatty and informative. Definitely worth doing this trip to see outside of BA

Emi was an incredible guide, always showing concern about how we were doing. All the information regarding the place and it´s history was clear. It’s a very interesting activity to do in Buenos Aires, and worth it! If you are an english speaker, spanish or portuguese speaker: you will be fine.
